Behind the Scenes

Some snap shots at our local New York City workshop where all of our jewelry is made by hand.  The image below shows random charms and shapes that just popped out of our casted molds.   Liquid metals (bronze, brass, or pewter) are poured into our custom-made molds.  These molds contain hollow cavities of our signature JUBILEE RIOT shapes.  Afterwards all of the shapes are left to cool and solidify.  The solidified shapes are then ejected and broken out of the mold creating a rough cut charm as pictured.

Soldering, filing, and polishing are done at the jeweler’s bench station.

Saws, sanding files, different needle nose pliers, hammer, and a bit of old fashion hand work are needed to create our jewelry.

The new casted shapes are soldered onto our custom cuff and bracelets.  Our necklaces are hand strung on specially sourced vintage chains.  After polishing, these are pieces are now ready for plating.

Discovery  Snap Bracelet prototype.  We test each piece to make sure it is a perfect fit.  Corners and angles are polished to soften the edges.    Notice the different size cuffs in the background, the design combinations are endless.

Some necklace, bracelets, and rings samples that have been created.  Often times a few round of samples have to be made and the design must be modified before they are approved as showroom samples.  Fit and proportion are key.  Clean and simple designs are a challenge to execute.  It is all about creating balance and designing by subtraction.  Thanks for reading.  More soon!
